If the ratio of the sides of the paralleogram is 3:4 and the perimeter is 28 cm, then find the length of the shorter side of the parallelogram.
Let PQRS be a parallelogram
Let , PQ = SR = 3k ; PS = QR = 4k
Perimeter = 28 cm (Given)
Perimeter = PQ + QR + SR + PS = 28
3k + 4k + 3k + 4k = 28
14k = 28
k = 2
Hence, PQ = SR = 3k = 6 cm
Similarly, PS = QR = 4k = 8 cm
∴ The length of the shorter side is 6 cm.
