If the reading of ammeter $A_1$ in figure (32-E4) is 2.4 A, what will the ammeters $A_2$ and $A_3$ read ? Neglect the resistances of the ammeters.

$A_1$ = 2.4 A

Since $A_1$ and $A_2$ are in parallel

$\Rightarrow 20\times 2.4=30\times x$

$X=\frac{20\times 2.4}{30}=1.6A$

reading in ammeter $A_2$ is 1.6 A

$A_3=A_1+A_2=2.4+1.6=4.0A$
