The correct option is B $8$
As roots are in A.P ,
let $a - d, a, a + d$ are roots of $x^{3} - 24 x^{2} + 188 x - 480 = 0$
Sum of roots $= \frac{24}{1}$
$∴ a - d + a + a + d = 24$
$\Rightarrow 3 a = 24 \Rightarrow a = 8$
