Solution

Given: The slope of the line joining points (x, -2) and (8, -11 ) is -34.

We know that slope of a line = y2-y1x2-x1=y1-y2x1-x2

Then -11-(-2)8-x=-34-11+28-x=-34-98-x=-34-3(8-x) =-36-24+3x=-363x=-36+24x=-123=-4
