The correct option is A 5%
Given:Porosity;n=VvV=50%=0.5

Degree of saturation; S=VwVv=90%=0.9

To find, na=percentage air void

S+ac=1

ac= Air content

ac=1S=10.9

= 0.1 = 10%

na=n×ac

=0.5×0.1=0.005=5%

na=5%

Note :

(i) Percentage air void (na): It is the ratio of the volume of air (Va) to the total volume of soil mass (V).

na=VaV=Volume of airVolume of soil

(ii) Air content (ac)=air content is defined as the ratio of the volume of air (Va) to the volume of voids in soil mass (Vv).
