If the solid[heavier than water]is soluble in water, how will you find its volume by a measuring cylinder?

Dear student,
Since, the solid is soluble in water, it will be quite difficult to measure using measuring cylinder.
So, its advisable to use another liquid which doesn't have a trace amount of water (ex.kerosene or petrol), so that the rise in volume can be easily measured.
