If the sum of the roots of the equation 4x2+bx+5=0 be 3 then find the value of b.

Given the quadratic equation,
4x2+bx+5=0.
Now from the relation between the roots and co-efficient we get,
the sum of the roots =b4.
Now according to the problem,
b4=3
or, b=12.
