Solution

The correct option is A 1
Given equations are
ax+y+z=0;x+by+z=0 and x+y+cz=0
They have non trivial solutions, so
∣ ∣a111b111c∣ ∣=0
Using row operations
R1R1R2 and R2R2R3, we get
∣ ∣a11b00b11c11c∣ ∣=0(a1)[(b1)c(1c)](1b)[0(1c)]=0(a1)(b1)c(a1)(1c)+(1b)(1c)=0(1a)(1b)c+(1a)(1c)+(1b)(1c)=0

Dividing both sides by (1a)(1b)(1c), we get

c1c+11b+11a=011c1+11b+11a=011a+11b+11c=1
