If the triangle ABC is revolved about the side 5 cm, then find the volume of the solid so obtained. Find also the ratio of the volumes of the two solids obtained .

AC is hypotenuse ie; AC = 13cm
AB = 12cm & BC = 5cm
we revolve ABC and we get a cone
by cone radius r = 12 cm
height h = 5 cm
volume of cone 13πr2h
=(13×π×12×12×5)cm3
=240πcm3
Ratio of volume =volumeinQ7volumeinQ8=100π240π=512
ratio of volume =5:12
