Question

If the unit of mass, length and time be each doubled,then how the unit of power will change.

Open in App
Solution

We know that,

Unit formula of power

power(p)=worktime

p=force×displacmenttime

p=force×velocity

Now, dimension formula of power

=[MLT2][LT1]

If mass, length and time is doubled

Then,

p=[MLT2][LT1]

p=[ML2T3]

p=[2M(2L)2(2T)3]

p=[ML2T3]

Hence, the unit of power is p=[ML2T3]

No change will occur in the unit.
