If the wind blows from high-pressure to the low-pressure area then why are cyclones circular in shape and linear?
Coriolis Effect
An apparent force that as a result of earth's rotation deflects moving objects to the right in the northern hemisphere and to the left in the southern hemisphere. If you and your friend are sitting diametrically opposite to each other on a moving merry go round and try to throw a ball towards your friend then the ball will we deflected either left or right to the position of your friend depending on the direction of rotation? Since our earth even rotates, the wind moving from high pressure to low pressure is rotated and that's why we get a circular cyclone.
