If the wire has a resistance per meter ρ, the resistance between A and B is lρx. Find the value of x.

Resistance per meter =ρ
So Let Resistance of l2m wire =ρl2=r(1)
Let Resistance l2m wire =ρl2=2r
equivalent resistance =2r×2r2r+2r=22r2+2=(22+1)r
Equivalent resistance =22r×22r22rr+22r=8r242r=2r
and we know that r=ρl2 (from (1) )
=2×ρl2
Equivalent resistance =ρl2
