Question

If there are 12 more red tiles than the white ones, total how many tiles are there?

Open in App
Solution

Here, we see that three quarters of the total numbers of tiles are red, and remaining one quarter are white.
Number of reds - Number of white tiles = 3 quarters - 1 quarter
= 2 quarters = Half
Half of the total number of tiles = 12
Therefore, the total number of tiles = 12 x 2
= 24.
