Solution

Let px = x3+ax2-13x+bSince 3 is the zero of the polynomial,p3 = 033+a32-133+b=027+9a-39+b=09a+b=12 .....15a + b = 0 ....2Subtracting 2 from 1, we get4a = 12 a = 3Now, from 2, b = -5a = -5 × 3 = -15So, px = x3+3x2-13x-15=x-3x2+6x+5=x-3x2+5x+x+5=x-3xx+5+1x+5=x-3x+1x+5So, zeroes of px are :x-3x+1x+5 = 0x = 3; -1; -5
