Now if they are in parallel :

Let equivalent resistance be R.

$\frac{1}{R}=\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}+\frac{1}{3}$$\frac{1}{R}=\frac{(1+1+1)}{3}$

$\frac{1}{R}=\frac{3}{3}$

$\frac{1}{R}=1$

R = 1

The effective resistance will be 1 $\Omega$
