Solution

(A) Law of multiple proportions

As per law of multiple of proportion when two elements can combine to form more than one compound, the masses of one element that combine with a fixed mass of the other element, are in whole number ratio or a multiple of that.

Hence, From the above description it is concluded that the given statement is True.

(B) According to law of multiple proportion:

When two elements can combine to form more than one compound, the masses of one element that combine with a fixed mass of the other element, are in whole number ratio or a multiple of that.

Hence, From the above description it is concluded that the given statement is True as per Law of multiple proportion.

(C) Example:

Consider two elements C and O. They can combine to form more than one compound i.e. CO and CO2.

The masses of oxygen that combine with fixed
mass (12 u) of carbon to form CO and CO2 are
16 u and 32 u respectively.

Now, taking ratio of masses of oxygen in two compounds-
16/32 = 1:2

They are in the whole number ratio 1:2.

Hence, this example follows law of multiple proportions.
