72 and 120


Given that the ratio of two numbers is 3:5.

So, let the required numbers be 3x and 5x . Then,

5x- 3x= 48 ( difference of the numbers is 48)

5x- 3x= 48

2x = 48

x= 482=24

The required numbers are :

3x = 3×24 = 72

and 5x = 5×24 = 120
