Question

If v=logx2+y2x+y prove that xvx+yvy=1

Open in App
Solution

Given,
v=logx2+y2x+y
v=log(x2+y2)log(x+y)....(1)
Differentiating equation (1) with respect to x
Now, vx=2xx2+y21x+y.......(2).
And Differentiating equation (2) with respect to y
vy=2yx2+y21x+y.......(3).

xvx+yvy=2(x2+y2)x2+y2x+yx+y=21=1. [ Adding equation (2) and (3)]
