Solution

The correct option is B 4732Vs
Let the mass of the earth is M and radius is R.

The gravitational potential due to a uniform solid sphere, at a distance r from centre is given by

V=GM2R3(3R2r2)(i)

Gravitational potential at the surface of the earth is
Substitute r=R in equation (i)

Vs=GMR (ii)

Gravitational potential at distance r=R4 from the centre of the earth is

V=GM2R3(3R2(R4)2)

V=47GM32R

V=4732Vs (By equation (ii)

Hence, option (b) is correct.
