Question

If we uproot a plant then will it do transportation and translocation ?

Open in App
Solution

No, plants cannot transport water and translocate food if uprooted. This is due to the reason that absorption of water through roots is essential to create pressure for movement of substances in plants.

However, if plant is kept in water or some artificial medium, then both the process may take place for some time till plant is alive.
