(x+y)2=9xy

On takin log both sides, we get
log(x+y)2=log(9xy)

We know that
log mn=nlog m
log (abc)=log a+log b+log c

Therefore,
2log(x+y)=log 9+log x+log y
2log(x+y)=log 32+log x+log y
2log(x+y)=2log 3+log x+log y
log(x+y)=log 3+12[log x+log y]
log(x+y)=log 3+12[log xy]
