Question

If x4+y4=47x2y2 then show that log(x2+y27)=logx+logy

Open in App
Solution

x4+y4=47x2y2

(x2+y2)22x2y2=47x2y2

(x2+y2)2=47x2y2+2x2y2

(x2+y2)2=49x2y2

x2+y2=7xy

x2+y27=xy

Taking log to both sides, we get

log(x2+y27)=log(xy)

log(x2+y27)=logx+logy

Hence proved.
