Question

If x be so small that its square and higher powers may be neglected, find the value of :
(1+23x)5×(4+3x)12(4+x)32

Open in App
Solution

y=(1+2x3)5(4+3x)12(4+x)32

since it is given that
x be so small that its square and higher powers may be neglected
so we expand each bracket upto single power only

=[1+2x3(5)]×2(1+3x4×12)×18[1+x4(32)]

again neglecting square terms
=14[110x3][1]

=145x6
