We have x+iy=3+4i5+12i,

Its complex conjugate is

xiy=34i512i

Now multiplying x+iy with xiy,

x2+y2=(3+4i)×(34i)(5+12i)×(512i)

x2+y2=32+4252+122
x2+y2=513

Thus 169×513=65.
