$x\times y=k$

On substituting $x=3$ and $k=24$ in $x\times y=k$

$$\begin{gathered} \Rightarrow 3\times y=24 \\ \Rightarrow y=\frac{24}{3} \\ =8 \end{gathered}$$

Hence, $y$ is equal to $8$
