The correct option is A x = 1 and y = 2
Given that,
y = x + 1....(1) and 2x + y = 4......(2)

Now,
On substituting (1) in (2),
we get
2x + x + 1 = 4
3x = 3
x = 1

Similarly, substituting x = 1 in the equation (1),
we get y = 2.
