Solution

Steps to be taken to reduce the incidence of pollution in the city:

As an anti-pollution officer, I would take the following steps-

  1. Planting more trees and protecting them as they purify the air during the process of photosynthesis.
  2. Regularly check, update, service, and do tuning of the machines that run on fuel.
  3. Using less polluting fuel at home for their domestic purposes.
  4. Using bicycles, rickshaws, and other battery-operated vehicles for commuting.
  5. Using public transport instead of personal vehicles. Personal vehicles, if used for commuting regularly, may be used by multiple people as in carpools.
  6. Keeping a strict check on vehicles for pollution in accordance with Bharat IV or Euro pollution norms.
  7. Reducing the use of fireworks during festivals.
  8. Switching off the engines when not in use at a red light and otherwise.
  9. Using nonpolluting fuel and installation of tall chimneys in factories and fitting them with filters and electrostatic precipitators.
  10. Locating industries outside the city limits.
