Question 177(ii)

Find x.
(25)2x+6×(25)3=(25)x+2

Open in App
Solution

We have, (25)2x+6×(25)3=(25)x+2
Using law of exponents, am+an=(a)m+n

Then, (25)(2x+6)+3=(25)x+2

Then, (25)2x+9=(25)x+2

Since the base are same on both sides, we can equate the powers.
On equating the powers of (25), we get

2x + 9 = x + 2
2x -x = 2 - 9
x = -7
