Question 111 (ii)
What will happen to the volume of the cube, if its edge is reduced to one-fourth?
Let each side of the cube be a, then its volume =a3 [∵ volume of a cube =(side)3]
If side reduced to one fourth =a×14=a4
Now, its volume =(a4)3=a364
Hence, new volume 164 times of original volume.
