Which of the following pairs of linear equations are consistent/ inconsistent? If consistent, obtain the solution graphically:
2x + y - 6 = 0, 4x - 2y - 4 = 0

The given equations are 2x + y - 6 = 0 and 4x - 2y - 4 = 0.

Comparing these equations with a1x+b1y+c1=0 and a2x+b2y+c2=0, we get:

a1=2,b1=1, and c1=6
a2=4,b2=2 and c2=4

a1a2=24 = 12

b1b2=12 = -12 and

c1c2=64=32

Hence, a1a2b1b2
Therefore, these linear equations represent intersecting lines and thus have only one possible solution.
Hence, the pair of linear equations is consistent.
