As per the question, Ila read 25 pages out of 100 pages.
Fraction of the pages read by Ila$=\frac{25}{100}$

25 is the common factor of both 25 and 100, so divide the numerator and denominator by 25, we get
$\frac{25}{100}=\frac{25÷25}{100÷25}=\frac{1}{4}$
So, Ila read ${\frac{1}{4}}^{th}$part of book.

Given that Lalita read ${\frac{2}{5}}^{th}$ part of book

To compare both the fractions, let us convert them into like fractions.
LCM of the denominators of $\frac{1}{4}$ and $\frac{2}{5}$ , i.e., LCM of 4 and 5 is 20.
