Ileum : Small Intestine :: Caecum : _______________________________

Open in App
Solution

Small Intestine:

  • The small intestine is divided into three parts: the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum.
  • The small intestine absorbs the nutrients from the food.
  • The ileum connects to the cecum (first part of the large intestine)

Large Intestine:

  • The large intestine converts the food waste after all the absorption processes into solid waste materials that are excreted out.
  • It is divided into four parts - the cecum, the colon, the rectum, and the anal canal.
  • Caecum absorbed fluids and salt that was left after the intestinal digestion.

Therefore, the ileum is the part of the small intestine, while the cecum is the part of the large intestine.
