During the era of French Revolution, a revolutionary assembly was formed by the representatives of the Third Estate which mainly comprised of the common people such as the artisans, peasants, and the working class. This Assembly was called as the National Assembly which lasted from June 13 1789 to July 9 1789. It was succeeded by the Legislative Assembly.
