Solution

Seed

  1. Seed is the ripened ovule that means after fertilization the ovule transforms into a seed.
  2. Seed contains the zygote.
  3. So, when seed is sown in the soil and it gets the favourable conditions, it germinates and develops into a new plant.
  4. When all the seeds produced by a plant falls under the same plant and sprouts into new plants, there can be few problems which will be faced by the new plants. They are:
  • As so many seeds have fallen in close vicinity, when they germinate and produce new plants there will be competition for water and minerals among them.
  • So, this will hamper their growth and development.
  • As the seeds have fallen under the parent plant, when they start growing there will be less amount of sunlight available for them.
  • This is due to the shade of the parent plant.
  • So, availability of less sunlight (which is essential for preparing their own food) will result in improper growth and development of the new plants.
