At rest,
T=(m1m2)g
m1>m2
On cutting T=0,


hence net force on m2 is (m1m2)g
m2a=(m1m2)g
a=(m1m2m2)g (upwards)
After cutting the string spring force doesn't change , so m1 's acceleration is zero.
(m1m2m2)g=2(a=2)
m1m2=1.2
6m2=1.2
m2=5 kg
