Solution

The correct option is A antigens
Immune system defends our body against invaders like viruses, bacteria and foreign bodies. Every cell possesses antigens. During embryonic life, the circulating components of the embryo could reach the developing immune system and the immune system recognises these components as self. Hence an unresponsiveness to self antigen develops.

The pathogens which enter the body also possess antigens and the immune system identifies them as non self antigens. Antigens can be any foreign substance from the environment like bacteria, virus, pollen grains etc. Antigens can be proteins, lipids and polysaccharides.

Interferons are the cytokine barriers produced by the virus infected cells to prevent the viral multiplication.

The different types of cells present in the immune system are called immune cells. They include phagocytes, neutrophils, natural killer cells etc. They form a part of the cellular barriers which give protection to the body against invasions of microorganisms.
