pH is define as the potential of hydrogen . the more is the H+ ions in the solution the lesser will be the pH value .

Importance of pH

pH is important in many ways in digestion process it must be slightly acidic media . and our body works within the narrow range of pH within the range of 6.8 to 7.5 . it is also plays as the important role in maintaining the proper functioning of the teeth and enzymes . the soil must be slightly basic (pH=7 to 7.8 ) to get a good harvest for crops .
