White precipitate will be obtained when AgCl forms in the solution but as CHCl3 is covalent compound, so it doesn't provide chloride ion to react with AgNO3 and white precipitate will not form.
But impure chloroform contains HCl, which reacts with
AgNO3 and white precipitate of AgCl forms due to the following reaction:
CHCl3+12O2COCl2+HCl
Impure chloroform forms HCl which reacts further as shown below:
AgNO3+HClAgCl+HNO3
