Distillation is a process of filtration which includes the conversion of a liquid into vapour and then condensed back to liquid.
In this process, the water is heated and is then kept at the temperature to maintain the water vaporization while stopping other elements from vaporizing.
The vaporized water is then condensed, and the water collected is called distilled water.
The advantage of this process is that it separates the water molecules from any microscopic disease-causing organisms.

Therefore, impure water can be purified by the process of distillation.
