Solution

The correct option is D

0.1A

Step 1: Given,

The inductance of the coil, L=60mH

i1=1Ai2=1.5A

Change in current:

i=i2-i1i=(1.5-1)=0.5A

Time interval t=0.1s

External resistance R=3Ω

Step 2: Formula used

emf=Ldidt

I=emfR

Where L is the inductance, didt is the rate of change of current, I is the current and R is the resistance.

Step 3: Finding emf

The coefficient of self inductance L of a coil is numerically equal to emf induced in the coil when the rate of change of current itis unity.

emf=Litemf=(60×10-3)0.50.1

emf=0.3V

Step 4: Finding I in the external resistor

emf=IR

0.3=I(3)

I=0.1A

Hence, the correct option is D.
