Passed percentage of students in 2007-08
$= \frac{N u m b e r o f s t u d e n t s p a s s e d i n 2007 - 08}{N u m b e r o f s t u d e n t s a p p e a r e d i n 2007 - 08} \times 100 = \frac{88151}{105332} \times 100 = \frac{8815100}{105332} = 83.68 %$
Passed percentage of students in 2008-09
$= \frac{N u m b e r o f s t u d e n t s p a s s e d i n 2008 - 09}{N u m b e r o f s t u d e n t s a p p e a r e d i n 2008 - 09} \times 100 = \frac{103804}{116054} \times 100 = \frac{10380400}{116054} = 89.44 %$
$∴$ Increase in percentage = 89.44 - 83.68 = 5.76%
