Let the digit in the ten’s place be x. Then the one's place digit will be x – 5.

Therefore the number is 10x + x – 5.

10x + x – 5 = 8(x + x – 5) (given)

11x – 5 = 16x – 40

- 5 + 40 = 16x – 11x

35 = 5x

x = 7

So, the number is 72.
