Solution

The correct option is D

400 m

A : C = 500 : 465 and A : B = 500 : 341

CB=(CA×AB)=(465500×500341) = 15 : 11

When C covers 15 m, B covers 11 m

When C covers 1500 m, B covers (1115×1500)m=1100m.

Therefore, C beats B by (1500 - 1100) m = 400 m.
