Req=r1+r2+r3+r4+r5+R=0.2+0.3+0.4+0.5+0.6+1

Req=3Ω

$$E_{eq}=5E=7.5V$

I=EeqReq=7.53

I=2.5A

When battery is shorted , no current flows through R.

Equivalent resistance becomes Req=r1+r2+r3+r4+r5

Req=3Ω

Current=I=EeqReq

=I=72=3.5A
