Solution

The correct option is B 512
Given:–––––––
In a box,
Number of red marbles =3
Number of green marbles =2
Number of blue marbles =7

Total number of marbles in the box =3+2+7=12

Here,
P(picking a red marble)=Number of red marblesTotal number of marbles

P(picking a red marble)=312

Next,
P(picking a green marble)=Number of green marblesTotal number of marbles

P(picking a green marble)=212

Need to Find:––––––––––––––––
Probability that the blindfoldly picked marble by Oliver is either red or green, i.e., P(picking a red marbleor a green marble)

P(picking a red marble or a green marble) = P(picking a red marble) + P(picking a green marble)

P(picking a red marble or a green marble)=312+212

P(picking a red marble or a green marble)=3+212=512

The probability of picking a red marble or a green marble is 512.

Hence, option (b.) is the correct choice.
