Question

In a breeding experiment,a phenotypic ratio 3:3:1:1 was obtained on crossing a pea plants with green, inflated pods with another pea plant bearing green constricted pods.write the genotype of parents and judge the accuracy of the result, using a punnet square.

Solution

As the pea plants are both green, which is recessive, we can only consider the inflated pod or constricted pod as alleles.
Hence, the ratio would be 1:1, if the parent is heterozygous, and 1 if the parent is homozygous dominant.
