According to Archimedes Principle, when a body is partially or totally immersed in a liquid it experiences a buoyant force which is equal to the weight of the liquid displaced. So, when the block is immersed, it would experience a buoyant force which would be equal to the weight of the liquid displaced. Here, the weight of the displaced liquid is given as 5 N. So, the buoyant force is equal to 5 N.
