According to Archimedes' Principle, when a body is partially or totally immersed in a liquid it experiences a buoyant force which is equal to the weight of the liquid displaced. So, when the block is immersed, it would experience a buoyant force which would be equal to the weight of the liquid displaced. Here, the weight of the displaced liquid is given 5N. So, the buoyant force is equal to 5N.
