Solution

Step 1: To find the number of days for the provisions last for 600 scouts.

It is given that 500 scouts the provisions last for 12 days.

Step 2: As the number of scouts are more the provisions last for less number of days.

According to inverse proportion,

n1×d1=n2×d2

where n1,n2,d1 and d2 represents the number of scouts and number of days in two different cases

n1=500,d1=12,d2=?,n2=600

500×12=d2×600

d2=500×12600

d2=5×126

d2=5×2

d2=10

Hence, For 600 scouts the provisions last for 10 days.
