Question

In a camp, there are 120 students for whom the food provision is made for 20 days. How long will these provisions last , if 30 more students join the camp?

Open in App
Solution

If 30 more students join the camp, the number becomes 150.

More the number of persons, the sooner would the provisions exhaust. Therefore this is the case of inverse proportion.

So, Number of students x Camp days = constant

120 x 20 = 150 x n

n = 16

So, the provisions will last for 16 days.
